Services

LWLNJ will provide after school and summer programs to low income families. We will evaluate the success and effectiveness of the program on an on-going basis. Specifically through:

Programs & Services

• After school tutoring to support math, English and reading comprehension. If interested, please refer to on-line application.
• Computer Skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• College Prep - includes resume writing, SAT Preparation and essay writing.
• Life skills –importance of education, college preparation, understanding and comparing career choices, understanding how to respect money, etc.
• Enhance Social Development skills - speech classes, fun debates, presentations and discussions etc.
• Community service to support course requirements and LWL specific programs.
• Mentor programs – assigning individual mentors to help pre-teens and teens cope with peer pressure, be a positive role model and friend.
• Summer camp enrichment programs which encompasses fun-learning exercises, field trips and so much more!
• Developmental Progress Reports - will be completed for each student on a quarterly basis. These reports will detail students' developmental progress through the LWL. These reports will be presented to parents during scheduled appointments.
• Brainstorming sessions done with the parents and their children to come up with innovative ideas to further improve the child's learning experience.
